Service
Bookkeeping & Cloud Accounting
Bookkeeping is not the interesting part of running a business, but it is the part everything else depends on. Kept properly, your year-end is quick, your VAT returns are reliable, and you can actually see what the business is doing before the year is over.
What the fee covers
Included as standard
Software set up properly
Chart of accounts built around your business, bank feeds connected, and opening balances brought in correctly from wherever you are coming from.
Regular reconciliation
Bank, card and payment-processor accounts reconciled on an agreed cycle so the numbers you look at are real.
Receipt and invoice capture
Photograph a receipt and it lands in the right place. This also satisfies the record-keeping side of Making Tax Digital.
Sales and purchase ledgers
Who owes you and who you owe, kept current — which is usually the single most useful thing a small business can see.
Management figures
A monthly or quarterly summary of profit, cash and how you are tracking, in language you can act on rather than a raw software export.
Common questions
Questions we get asked about this
Which software do you recommend?
Usually Xero for businesses with a few moving parts, FreeAgent for contractors and sole traders, QuickBooks where it is already in place and working. We fit the tool to the business rather than pushing one package.
Can you take over books that are in a state?
Yes. We quote separately for the clean-up so you can see what is a one-off catch-up cost and what is the ongoing monthly fee.
Do I need bookkeeping if I am just a sole trader?
Not necessarily a full service, but you do need records good enough to support your return — and once MTD for income tax applies to you, they need to be digital. We can set you up to do it yourself and simply review it.
Who owns the data?
You do. The subscription is in your name, you have full access at all times, and if you ever leave, everything goes with you.
