Who we help

Different circumstances, the same straightforward service

Most people find their tax position gets complicated gradually — a side business, a second property, a company formed in a hurry — and then realise nobody has been keeping an eye on it. These are the situations we see most.

Individuals, sole traders & families

Most people arrive here because something changed — self-employment started earning properly, a second income appeared, or a brown envelope turned up. We take the annual return off your desk, make sure the reliefs you are entitled to are actually claimed, and tell you what you owe with enough notice to plan for it.

Situations we see often

  • Self-employed or running a side business alongside a job
  • Income over the threshold where a return becomes compulsory
  • Dividend, savings or investment income to declare
  • A capital gain from selling shares or a second property
  • Several years of returns outstanding and mounting penalties
  • A tax code that has clearly been wrong for months

Landlords & property investors

Property tax has been tightened steadily over the last decade, and the rules no longer reward guesswork. We prepare your rental accounts property by property, apply the repairs-versus-improvements distinction properly, handle the separate 60-day reporting deadline when you sell, and give you a straight answer on whether incorporating would actually help you.

Situations we see often

  • One let property, or a portfolio across several areas
  • A furnished holiday let or short-term rental
  • Weighing up personal ownership against a property company
  • Selling a rental property or second home
  • An inherited property you now need to deal with
  • Rental income that has never been declared

Limited companies & contractors

Owner-managed companies carry two sets of deadlines and a director who is personally on the hook for both. We handle the statutory side — accounts, CT600, confirmation statement, payroll — and take a yearly look at how you are drawing money out, because the salary and dividend split is where most directors quietly overpay.

Situations we see often

  • A newly incorporated company and no idea what you now owe
  • Contracting through your own limited company
  • A growing business approaching the VAT threshold
  • Taking on a first employee and needing PAYE set up
  • A dormant company that still needs its filings
  • An overdrawn director's loan account you would rather not repeat

Overseas clients with UK income

Leaving the UK does not end your relationship with HMRC if you still have UK income. Non-resident landlords in particular have an extra layer to deal with: without HMRC approval, your letting agent or tenant must withhold basic-rate tax before paying you. We handle that approval, keep your UK filings in order, and work around the time difference.

Situations we see often

  • Letting UK property while living overseas
  • Basic-rate tax being withheld from your rent by an agent
  • A UK pension or UK investment income while non-resident
  • Selling UK property from abroad and facing the 60-day deadline
  • Returning to the UK and unsure what that changes
  • Needing a UK accountant who will work to your time zone
