Business Support
Statutory accounts tell you how last year went, several months after it ended. That is a compliance document, not a management tool. This is the work in between — regular figures, a forecast you can plan against, and someone to think out loud with before you commit.
What the fee covers
Included as standard
Management accounts
Monthly or quarterly figures showing profit, margin and where it is actually coming from — presented so you can act on them, not as a software export.
Cash flow forecasting
A rolling view of what is coming in and going out, including the lumpy items — VAT, corporation tax, payroll — that catch profitable businesses out.
Budgets and scenario modelling
What happens if you take on two more staff, lose your largest customer, or move premises. Modelled before you commit rather than explained afterwards.
Financial management support
Practical help with the finance function itself: what to track, how often, and which numbers actually deserve your attention.
A conversation when you need one
Access to a partner between year-ends, so a decision can be sense-checked while it is still a decision.
Common questions
Questions we get asked about this
Is this the same as a finance director?
It is a lighter version of the same idea. A business too small to justify a finance director still needs the thinking one would provide, just not five days a week.
How often would we meet?
It depends how fast things move. Monthly suits businesses that are growing or under cash pressure; quarterly is enough for a steady one. We would rather set the rhythm to what you need than sell a fixed package.
Do we need good bookkeeping first?
Yes — management figures are only as good as what they are built from. If the records are not there we will say so, and quote for getting them right before pretending to forecast from them.
Can you help with a bank or investor application?
We can prepare the forecasts and supporting figures. Note that we are not authorised to give regulated investment advice, and would refer you on where that is what you actually need.
